Kitchen Towel Bunny

This cute little dish towel bunny makes a wonderful gift, and another great project for the kids.  You can decorate the bunny with ribbons or raffia, and attach a gift tag with a short poem:

I was made with love just for you
and when Easter is through
undo my bows for another gift
... I wash dishes too!

Material required:

  • Dish towel
  • Washcloths (2)
  • Rubber bands (3)
  • Safety pin
  • Ribbon

Remove the tags from the dishtowel and washcloths. Take the dishcloth
and lay it flat on the table printed side down. Fold both sides into the
middle. Place the wash cloths on the table and tightly roll both sides
towards the middle on the diagonal.

To make the bunny, the dishtowel will be folded over the two washcloths.

The washcloth at the top of the fold will make the bunny's ears and head.  The second washcloth makes the arms.

Fold the dishtowel over the first washcloth and pull the washcloth
tightly together and join at the top with a rubber band. The washcloth
ends form the rabbit ears. The part of the washcloth inside the towel
forms the rabbit head. Place another rubber band around the towel just
under the washcloth to finish forming the head.

Slip the second washcloth under the head to form the bunny arms. Place the third rubber band around the towel under the bunny arms to form the body. Then twist the washcloth arms to make them tighter and secure them to the bunny with a safety pin from under the dress.

Your bunny is all ready to decorate!
