Rubber Stamping Saint Patrick’s Day
Are you Irish? There are some people who are but at the same time, are
not: Irish who have never been to Ireland. Well, that might be confusing but
it is really as simple as saying that they are Irish for a day - St
Patrick's Day! Saint Patrick’s Day is very much associated with the European
country of Ireland. Not to mention, this 'feast day' is commemorated
internationally, on March 17th each year.
When St Patrick's Day arrives, much of the world is just eager to celebrate,
and many people are looking for craft projects to commemorate the day. One
example is using the craft of rubber stamping for Saint Patrick’s Day. When
you browse through the internet, you will see a lot of designs that will
guide you in creating greeting cards, book marks, and other rubber stamping
craft projects.
St Patricks Day is traditionally distinguished by the wearing of the color
green, by the thre-leaf clover, which symbolizes the holy tritiy, and by the
very popular four-leaf clover, believed to usher in prosperity. So rubber
stamping St Patrick's Day projects are very likely to feature green clover!
However, before diving into the craft of rubber stamping Saint Patrick’s
Day, why not take a trip down memory lane and learn about the life of this
man who was so highly esteemed because of his faith:
Simply called Patrick by his friends, he was born in England into an
affluent family. But misfortune knocked: the young boy was stolen and was
bought for a price as a slave in Ireland. For six years, he tended a flock
of sheep before he had the opportunity to flee. His work did not allow him
to be exposed to people so he spent most of the time alone in prayer. When
the now grown-up man went back to his native England, he saw a vision that
commanded him to return to Ireland and preach the Good News. Patrick was
very instrumental in bringing Christianity to Ireland. He built many
churches and was eventually heralded as a Bishop. After he passed away, he
was canonized as a saint.
This brief account explains why there is a plethora of crafts for Saint
Patrick’s Day, including rubber stamping, because such pieces are symbols of
how the Irish dearly love their patron saint. Irish or not, you can have
fun, using rubber stamping crafts for Saint Patrick’s Day.
