Cupid's Other Arrows

Most of us know at least a little bit about the cherub known as Cupid. This character, which originated in Roman myth, has become closely associated with Valentine's Day. Cupid, it is said, fires arrows from his bow. These arrows can fill people with love. No wonder he's featured on so many Valentine's Day cards!

However, many of us don't know everything about Cupid's arsenal. He's said to carry a bottle of love potion and a torch to light the fires of passion. Even more interesting are Cupid's arrows themselves. Cupid is known to have golden arrows-the one's he uses to make people fall in love. Lesser remembered today is Cupid's stockpile of lead arrows. According to legend, getting hit by a lead arrow will fill one with pure lust!
